Saturday 29th April Instagram Birmingham invade Warwick Castle, this medieval castle developed from an original built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and is one of the most complete medieval fortresses in Britain, Warwick Castle is a place that everyone should visit at least once, its a stunning photographic location dominating the sky line of Warwick next to the River Avon. Considering how close we live to this place I've not been for many years so this was a chance to explore and photograph the castle, you can really spend a day here with plenty for adults and children to do. One thing I wasn’t expecting was the beautiful and powerful birds of pray including Vultures and Eagles flying from the Castle ramparts and the handler who combines an amusing and educational commentary this was a breathtaking demonstration of falconry at its best. comprising of Eagles & Vultures, Hawks, Falcons, Owls and the splendour of a soaring Eagles with a castle backdrop ideal for photos, a great meet up.

Saturday 1st April 2017 at Compton Verney with Instagram Coventry and I was lucky enough to be invited to go and photograph the beautiful Grade 1 listed 18th century Warwickshire mansion surround by 120 acres of parkland which was landscaped by Capability Brown. Compton Verney today is a nationally accredited art gallery is now home to six permanent collections and visiting exhibitions. Fifteen of us were looked after by Kiran who looks after and runs the digital marketing at Compton Verney who was our guide for the day and was an excellent host we had a tour of the whole gallery and house and grounds and of course the obligatory coffee and cake in their restaurant. This was my first instagram meet and met some great friendly bunch people who all had a interest in photography and it was really interesting as I wasn't sure what to expect and what equipment to take as usual I took everything I was determined to get a couple of long exposure shots around the estate so lugged my heavy manfrotto around, while others shot only with camera phones and that's exactly what's great about instagram the picture is the important bit it really doesn't matter what you shoot with. Will certainly be interested in meeting again with others and great way of meeting like minded individuals who have a love for the art of photography. I have put just few of the shots taken on the day and the daffodils looked beautiful I would recommend a visit even if you are not a fan of art this place is a great day out with the walks around the estate to a varied art collections and exhibitions.
