To do anything commercially within the UK with a Drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) you need to have a PFCO a permission for commercial operation, so after long time thinking and saving! I bit the bullet and after a lot research i found a company called UAV8 that deliver Drone Pilot Training they are a company approved by the CAA that consist of 13 Military Pilots and instructors that deliver first class training to a very high standard that have incredible experience in unmanned and manned aircraft.
The course is split into sections of Theory + Exam, Flight Assessment and comprehensive Operations Manual, This takes aprox three days of classroom work and serious amount of time after to put your manual together once you have done this you can apply to the CAA with your certificates, operations manual and comprehensive insurance + a fee they will vet and approve once satisfied all correct. Know one owns the airspace in the UK but the CAA look after the safety of the airspace so there are rules for flying in this airspace and drones have been included as like any other powered aircraft that use share the sky. Very simply you can fly a drone to height of 400ft from the surface, you must keep it in visual line of sight and you need to keep away from built up areas, people and properties.
