This was trip was for aerial images of both piers as they are within two miles of each other, really like the symmetry and architecture of Boscombe Pier so managed a few shots of this. The sunrise wasn’t very spectacular, it lasted a few minutes before going behind thick cloud and that was that. Boscombe Pier has recently undergone a £2.4 million restoration to make the structure safe and accessible to the public, securing its future for another generation at a time when many of the UK's remaining seaside piers are being left to crumble into the sea At a cost of £2,600 the new Bournemouth Pier was opened by the Lord Mayor of London in August 1880 this was an ideal aerial shot and at 6.00am no public around so safe to fly. Melincourt Waterfalls, in a small village called Resolven in Wales, There is a small free car park on the main road to park and then its a short 10minute walk on a clearly mark trail to the waterfall. The spectacular 80ft waterfall seems to be unknown gem as its just outside the Brecon Beacons so often dose not get a mention, you can actually walk behind this waterfall on slippery shelf but great photo location and easy walk. Back at Silverstone for the pinnacle of the two wheel sport with the British MotoGP another great sport a real crowd puller this event but really strict access so limited place for general photography all grandstands are paid for at premium costs. It was Championship drama as Marquez retires and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) wins, love to photograph the bikes as there is always a full day of action from all the different classes and high speed drama Silverstone Classic (21-23 July) three days of unrivalled entertainment with big crowds, and great paddock access at any such event, not to mention the massive range of off-track activity. so it was weekend of camping and motorsport and great British weather, camp site at Silverstone for this event is actually on the circuit with great facilities, food, bar and decent permanent toilets and shower blocks, a free shuttle tractor runs you back and forwards to the track, you can also jump on a shuttle bus to get you anywhere around the track. Its endless motorsport all week end and because its open stadiums you can go anywhere ideal for photo opportunities my main lens was my trusty lightweight Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5, its a true petrol head weekend with proper sounding F1 cars like Nigel Mansell’s 1992 British Grand Prix-winning Williams FW14B and flame-spitting, Spa 24 Hour-winning Ford Sierra RS500, unfortunately the British weather wasn’t the best but still a great weekend of motorsport and photography combined well worth doing! Greenan Castle is a 16th-century tower house, possibly on the site of an ancient fort, around 2.5 miles south-west of Ayr in South Ayrshire, Scotland the castle is perched upon the top of a sea cliff overlooking the Irish sea,
To be honest this a great location but time wasn’t on my side I had missed sunrise and I just couldn’t find a composition I liked, the wind was strong couldn’t get a reflection from the beach from the pools of water, I went one side to the other put the drone up not in happy with the shots from that, with time restraints i had to pack up, I put it down to sometimes you don't get a shot, but one for another day with better light and more time. Something special about a sunrise, sunsets are good but the start of new day the air is different the piece and atmosphere are on another level, and they are more difficult to do as you have to get up early and especially in the summer, but standing not far from one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe wasn’t so bad, still to be at 4.30 at Stonehenge is early enough. Blue hour wasn’t special but as the sun started to rise the sky started to pop, the golden colour was special another beautiful place to watch the sun come up and before the thousands of tourist all turn up, the light spread across the field was stunning, great thing about this location you drive past Stonehenge and little track on the right hand side running along the perimeter plenty of places to park and set up with a tripod. Sat Nav: Near Amesbury, Wiltshire SP4 7DE Open Daily 9am To 8pm, Last Entry At 6pm Llyn Padarns is glacially formed lake in Snowdonia, Gwynedd, North Wales. The lake is approximately 2 miles long and at its deepest point is 94 feet deep, and is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales and it has a tree that is very popular as photograph, and I've always wanted to visit this place and photograph the loan tree. Its a 3hr drive from door to tree and I wanted to be standing at said point before sunrise, so 3.30am i was off made good time as no other idiot is up at that time on a Sunday morning, have to say it was well worth it, I was the only nutter there and quickly set up my tripod and got my composition i stood and watched, it wasn’t a particular stunning sunrise but the air and piece was something so special that made the getting up so worth it wouldn’t have mattered if the shot didn’t work out, to watch the sunrise at this beautiful place below Snowdon was good for the soul, got a few shots and with the drone, there is a free car park very close Sat NAV: postcode of LL55 4EL should get you there. Facilities: There are no facilities at the carpark so a half mile or 10 minute walk into Llanberis for toilets or shops. Saturday 29th April Instagram Birmingham invade Warwick Castle, this medieval castle developed from an original built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and is one of the most complete medieval fortresses in Britain, Warwick Castle is a place that everyone should visit at least once, its a stunning photographic location dominating the sky line of Warwick next to the River Avon. Considering how close we live to this place I've not been for many years so this was a chance to explore and photograph the castle, you can really spend a day here with plenty for adults and children to do. One thing I wasn’t expecting was the beautiful and powerful birds of pray including Vultures and Eagles flying from the Castle ramparts and the handler who combines an amusing and educational commentary this was a breathtaking demonstration of falconry at its best. comprising of Eagles & Vultures, Hawks, Falcons, Owls and the splendour of a soaring Eagles with a castle backdrop ideal for photos, a great meet up. A quick trip to London and a meeting next to St Paul's Cathedral, only one thing for it, I was looking for inspiration and a suitable composition so many people all taking pictures of the beautiful Cathedral, hit me when i was least looking face the other way a stunning reflection, so that whats the series is about i tried to do a complete 360 of St Paul's using every reflection possible...
